Preparing for your site
The first part of the design process is to create the index or home page for your website. This can then be used as a template to create the remainder of the site or alternativley you can have a further design for additional pages. At this stage it is very important that you start to think about preparing some content.
The starting point is for you to write a description of your site and what your company does. It is very important to think about keyword weighting - especially on your index page which will assist you in ranking well with the search engines. If you require any assistance with writing the copy for your website, we will be more than happy to help.
It is also a good idea to start to get things together such as your company logo and any appropriate images that you may want to include within your website.
We also recommend that you have a look at other websites and advise us of the links so we understand the look and feel that you like. To this end it also a good idea to have a look at your competitors websites to fully understand their approach and how yours will compare.
Keyword Weighting
This is a very important area of your initial website set up. Search engines need to know which words are important within your site and you will need to think about what your potential customers or people with interest will type in at the search engine when looking for the services that you offer.
Once you have a good idea of the Keywords you need to include, you will then have to turn them into key phrases and weight your text. This means to put the most important phrases near the top of the page and include them throughout the page in as many ways as you can without compromising the flow of your text. Think about variations such as singular, plural, shortened and full.
Which Website Package?
There are a selection of packages that are available and whichever solution you opt for can be upgraded at a later date to incorporate additional functionality or to grow with your business/personal needs.
Initial discussions with our consultants will give us the information we need to advise you on the best solution. It is common that the majority of clients start with the entry level Starter Solution or Business Solution giving the interest/business that all important presence on the internet.
Upgrading thereafter is no issue. Your business may have grown dramatically and you want to start offering your products on-line or you have decided to extend the site to incorporate additional information and/or services.
